  1. I have the SilverCrest from Lidl, not this one specifically but of the style, at the time it cost about €100 although I already say that it is not this model. I think it's perfect for those who want to start. It was given to me 10 years ago for my birthday when I first became interested in making clothes and it is still the machine I use today. When I speak of using, I mean daily use since I dedicate myself to this. I have made many different types of garments and although sometimes it is difficult, it has not disappointed me. I have sewn gauze, cloths, cottons, satins, leatherette, etc. and also batches of productions of between 30 -40 garments and the champion is still there.

Obviously there are much better machines that will make your job easier and faster, but what I want to say is that if you know how to handle it and take care of taking care of it and keeping it in good condition, it gives much more of itself than it seems.

        • Hi Mary,

You must wait for Lidl to take out the offer. Until it does, there is no other way to get hold of it.

They usually advertise it on television, putting up posters in supermarkets 15 days before and in promotional brochures.

I have lost the instruction book and I am having a problem with the seam that skips the stitch

        • They sell exactly the same one at Carrefour, although it's not Silvercrest, it has another brand, but it's exactly the same. I've had the Lild one for a few years now and it's not bad. It cost me €69.

          • Hello Eugenia,

The truth is that we were totally unaware that Carrefour sold a machine similar to Lidl's. It could be, in fact, many products of different brands are bought wholesale and then they are renamed with the logo of the corresponding brand, so what you say would not be strange. We'll be alert.

            Thank you!

          • I just bought the cheap one from Carrefour. 50 euro chest Bluesky

To learn I was looking for something very basic. It's not bad, it fulfills its basic functions but it drives me crazy that the thread is not kept taut correctly. I think that is your fault. I have tried all the voltages and nothing.

        • Hi Samara,

They should be able to send it to you but you will have to go to the Lidl supermarket where you bought it and tell what happened to you. In the worst case they will tell you that they can't get it for you but they will refund your money, at least they should.

  2. Hello, what is the difference between S1 and S2 in the wheels of the Lidl sewing machine. I bought it and they seem to me the same stitches. Thank you.

    Reply
    • Hello Silvia,

Turning that wheel modifies the length of the stitch. The larger the number selected on the dial, the longer the stitch length will be.

What can happen to you is that since in the first positions they are very small lengths, the difference is hardly appreciated visually.

      • Hi guys, I have the Lidl machine, the silvercrest. I am a beginner in sewing and I love it. The problem I have is that the upper thread always breaks. I have checked a thousand times if it is well connected, everything is correct. I changed the needle too. It is demotivating if you need an hour to sew about 20 cm, because the thread always breaks. I realized that it breaks if I have two fabrics to join and if I put it in reverse, it usually breaks where the needle is. The thread is not low quality either, so what can I do? It's wrong?

    • Hello Olga,

If your machine is not yet a year old and is damaged, it is best to make use of the guarantee. To do this you can:

1 – Go to the Lidl supermarket where you bought the sewing machine. Surely they will pick it up for you or give you direct contact information with the repair service.
2 – You can write to Lidl through their Contact Form
      3 – You can call the Lidl customer service number (902 243 222) from 9 a.m. to 20 p.m.

We recommend the first option since it is the most direct and they will provide you with an immediate solution.

      Regards!

    • Olga, first check if the support to make the bobbins is all the way to the left, which is the sewing position.
If it is to the right, which is the position to fill the bobbin, the machine will not sew.
It seems silly but my mother was unable to sew for two weeks until I discovered this problem.

The Silvercrest is more limited but of course, it is a much cheaper machine than the Singer.

It depends a bit on your experience and needs. Both are good home sewing machines but the Singer is, in our opinion, more complete and it will be easier for you to find parts or accessories for it.

When you set the stitch selector to normal sewing, it deviates to the left, if you set it to overcasting then it is placed in the center and sews correctly. We think it may be related to the selector, because if you turn it a little it centers, but when you start sewing, it's wrong again. Can you help me?. THANK YOU

    • Hello Alicia,

From what you say, you are moving the stitch selection dial. In it you can see the position of the needle, either in the center or on the right.

On page 39 of the instruction manual you can see a reference to what I am commenting on. If the problem is not related to the thickness of the fabric, the needle and the stitch, you may need to check other aspects such as the needle position, the needle plate, etc.

You can sew denim without any problem, but we recommend that you change the needle and use a specific one for jeans or thick fabrics.

There are plenty of tutorials online that give tips on sewing with denim, recommending steam pre-washes, teaching how to place the fabric on the machine, and giving tricks like hammering with a nylon mallet to smooth out thicker seams.

    • Hi Alex,

My name is Nacho and I am writing to you because of the comment you have left us on our sewing machine website.

Due to the little difference in price between the Lidl machine and the Singer, we prefer the Singer basically because of the number of spare parts and the ease of finding them. Also, because it's Christmas, you can buy it for only €94,99, hurry up because tomorrow it will no longer be available.

      Regards!

  24. Hi Nacho, I have a problem with the Silvercrest, I started to prepare an angel costume for my daughter and I don't think I'll get it. The machine broke the needle (before it broke the thread), I changed it with one that is not from the same mark and it keeps breaking the thread and gets stuck at the bottom.
What do I have to do? I need it today
    Thank you

    • Hi nicol,

The truth is that what happens to you is very rare and it is difficult to help you without seeing the machine live. If you think that everything is placed correctly, it is best that you go to your Lidl or directly call the Silvercrest technical service so that they can help you better.

  25. Hello, I have had the lidl machine for 15 days and trying it I have a doubt. When I turned the stitch length selector to S2 I can't advance it, it stays in the middle of S1 and S2. It is normal?

  26. Hello, the kings have brought me two sewing machines, the silvercrest and a singer promise 1409. I don't know which one to stay with. I want it to sew bottoms of pants and jeans and do some simple crafts. It is my first machine and I have to learn how to use it. Which do you advise me?

    • Hi Nayr, in your case we would stay with the Singer basically because it will be much easier for you to manage any warranty or find spare parts.

  27. I was given a Silvercrest but after reading the comments I think I would do well to exchange it for a Singer could I exchange it? I haven't started it yet.
    Thank you.

    • Hi Isabel,

You can exchange it if you have the purchase receipt and keep all the packaging. The only bad thing is that they still don't have stock of the Singer but you can wait for Lidl to put it back on sale or buy it through one of the links we have on the web.

  29. Hello, I am interested in your silver crest sewing machine and it tells me on your page that it is 69e and I am going to buy it online and mark directly 79'99, something is wrong, can I buy it in the store for the price of 69e?

        • Hi Jennifer,

We have looked at Lidl's online website and, to date, the silvercrest machine does not appear. The only one that comes out is the Singer but it appears as out of stock and at a higher price than what you can get through the offer on our website.

          Regards!

  30. Good Morning.
I want to buy my first sewing machine, and I have seen that Lidl has two models, singer and Silver Crest, which of the two do you recommend? When do sales promotions usually come out? Is there the possibility of buying it online without being advertised?
    Thank you very much

    • Hi Carol,

The Silvercrest machine is cheaper than the Singer and for any warranty or spare parts issues, you will depend on Lidl.

The Singer is a little more expensive but you can find spare parts in any sewing machine shop and technical services throughout Spain, so it is a considerable advantage in the face of any possible problem.

You can buy it online, on our page you have a link to purchase it.

We do not know the dates of the promotions, sometimes it is every 2 or 3 months, other times every 6 months... it is advisable to pay attention to the catalog of offers. Also lately they always announce it on TV so it's easy to find out.

      Regards!

  32. Good afternoon Nachos,
I am a beginner, which machine would you recommend the Singer Tradition 2282 or the Singer Brilliance 6180?

    • Hi Mari,

I am writing to you because of the comment you have left us on our sewing machine website.

Of the two Singer models that you offer us, the most recommended for someone who is starting out in the world of sewing machines is the Singer Tradition, it is a simple model but with everything you need to start and do all kinds of jobs.

When you have enough experience, you can make the leap to the Brillnace 6180, which is much more complete and complex.

  33. Hello, I have a silvercrest machine that they sold red, when I dismantled the fabric press pin I lost it, I don't know how but I can't use it without it because I can't hook any fabric press, I called the technical service and they no longer sell it to me because it is discontinued and they only sell spare parts for the new ones. The machine works perfectly and now that I do I throw it away for a piece that is worth 5 or 10 euros? I feel cheated and helpless, I will not buy anything from this brand again, I will go to the leading brands where I have no problem with the spare parts but they have screwed up the work I was doing and now I have to spend money on a new one. full blown scam

    • Wow, they shined.

When did you buy the machine? I am telling you this because the technical service is obliged by law to offer spare parts for 5 years from the date on which it ceases to be manufactured.

Do a little research on that topic and if you meet the requirements, complain because they have to give you a solution. Of course, it will surely be a slow process, although if you go ahead with the law, they still give in and you do not have to file claims of any kind.

      Regards!

  34. Hello, today I have released my new silvercrest machine. It works very well, the problem is that it stains the thread when sewing. I put white thread and it comes out black, not at the bottom of the bobbin, but at the top. I think it may be oil, that being unused, it will drag some rest. But I have sewn a lot, on top of old cloths and the problem is not solved. It seems that it stains less but it still stains.
Could you give me a solution? I've already damaged a pair of pants...
    Thank you

    • Hi Asuncion,

The truth is that what you say is very strange, we had never heard of it. Try calling Silvercrest technical support to see if they can give you a solution, you have the number in this article.

    • What model is it? Because I bought it 2 weeks ago and it is the SilverCrest 300024, which cost me €55 and I have seen that this week there is the 315501 for €79…..

What difference is there from one model to another?

  36. Hello, I have seen 2 models
    SNM 33 C1 which is 315501
    SNM 33 B2 which is 300024

Both for 79,99 Euros. What is the model that you recommend? I see the 300024 as more complete in terms of accessories and it has light….but I would like to know if the 315501 has advances or improvements to highlight. Thanks and regards.

  38. I have had the Silvercrest sewing machine for 3 years and it works great for me. I use it daily for making clothes and patchwork work. To start sewing it is great, since it has many functions that go beyond the basics. Of course, as progress is made in this world of sewing, we want more functions in the machine, as in my case I need the alphabet for some of my jobs, so I just bought another sewing machine for these issues, although I still use Lidl's because it works perfectly with any type of fabric, including leatherette or denim. It is important to take care of it, clean it and keep it in good condition so that it stays like the first day.

  40. Hello, I bought my machine less than a month ago and I was very happy because they spoke very highly of it. However, after sewing 12 masks it has started to make a lot of noise as if the mechanisms were out of sync and suddenly stops (making a noise as if it was stuck) but everything seems to be in place. You wait, it works again for a little while and then back to the same.
A bit frustrating experience the truth.

  42. Hello. I have just the machine in the photo. The upper thread tension is really bad. I have to sew at 0 and still sometimes it gets too tight as you sew and it puckers. A disaster.

  43. Hello Nacho,
I am looking forward to buying a sewing machine to start sewing at home. Right now Lidl is promoting the SiverCrest but my interest is more towards Lidl's Singer Tradition 2282 but I don't know if I should wait or not since I don't know if Lidl is still marketing it.
Could you tell me if they keep putting it out for sale every year? And if that were the case, do they put it out for sale several times a year or only once? Otherwise I'd buy the SilverCrest they have for sale right now.

    Thanks in advance

    • Hi Eloisa,

They usually have the Singer machine frequently on their website but they remove it when they launch the Silvercrest so as not to step on the sales of one model with another.

In any case, the Singer model is not exclusive to Lidl, you have it for sale on other sites and at similar prices, so if you don't want to wait, you can buy it.

As for which one to buy…I prefer the Singer because it is a tad superior but above all because Singer's technical service has nothing to do with Silvercrest's and in the event of any problem or guarantee, Singer always makes it much easier. Lidl does not respond badly, but it is more tedious from what other users have told us.

      Regards!
